dapples of light, a poem

It’s 9am and the sun dapples my floors in light

My phone is softly singing

Im craving the aroma of fresh ground coffee and the sound of milk whirring.

Good mornings fill my screens

Despite us calling till the little hours of the day.

He greets me,

Regardless of time, and distance.

the sun dapples my floor in light.

it is 9am, and i crave the scent of fresh ground coffee and the sound of milk whirring.

i have messages from a friend across the world. he wakes me with voice notes and cats and tells me about the classes he’s teaching.

one of my best friends has promised to call me on saturday. i am giddy at the thought as i think about what latest escapades will be exchanged.

the sun dapples my floor in warmth

it is march, and oh how i have marched my way through this year

the sun is beautiful
